Simple Tense

·         we use simple future tense to do note habitual actions and natural occurrences in the future.
·    
             It is used to indicate the events and actions which are likely to happen in future.

Simple Future Tense

·         You use the Simple Future Tense when you talk about future events or plans.

·         You also use the Simple Future Tense when you want to make a prediction or make a promise.

Simple Future Tense

There are two (2) ways to make the Simple Future Tense.
In this module we will present Pattern # 2. In the module Simple Future Tense Part I, we present Pattern # 1.

     Pattern # 1:

           SUBJECT  +  BE   +   GOING TO    +   VERB (BASE FORM)

      Pattern # 2:

           SUBJECT  +  WILL   +    VERB (BASE FORM)

Simple Future Tense

Pattern # 2

   SUBJECT    +    WILL    +     VERB (BASE FORM)…

    Example:

      I will graduate next May.

Affirmative Sentences

 Examples:

1.  I will watch a movie tonight.

2. You will see the doctor tomorrow.

3.  I shall visit you tomorrow

4. The dog will eat its food soon.

5. We will move to Florida next year.

6. The game will begin in 10 minutes.

Negative Sentences

 Examples:

  1.  I will not watch a movie tonight.

 2. You will not see the doctor tomorrow.

 3. Miguel will not fix his car later today.

5. The dog will not eat its food soon.

6. We will not move to Florida next year.

7. The game will not begin in 10 minutes.

    
Use of Contractions (Affirmative)

Contractions:

A contraction is the combination of two words into one. In contractions, letters are replaced with an apostrophe (‘).

Examples:  

  I will = I’ll

you will = you’ll

he will = he’ll

she will = she’ll

  it will = it’ll

  we will = we’ll

you will= you’ll

  they will = they’ll

Use of Contractions (Negative)

Examples:
·         I will not = I won’t

·         you will not = you won’t

·         he will not = he won’t

·         she will not = she won’t

·         it will not = it won’t

·         you will not = you won’t

·         we will not = we won’t

·         they will not = they won’t

Examples of Contractions in Affirmative Sentences

1)      I will watch a movie tonight.

2)      You will see the doctor tomorrow.

3)      We will move to Florida next year.

4)      The game will begin in 10 minutes.

5)      Sarah and Daniel will buy a laptop next month.
